Jeffrey Quarry

The Jeffrey Quarry sits in Jeffrey, Pulaski County, Arkansas, USA, just a stone's throw from North Little Rock, near the bustling state capital, Little Rock. Other finds include ankerite, chlorite group, cookeite, fluorapatite, galena, goethite, molybdenite, pyrite, rectorite, rutile, and sphalerite. These minerals are embedded in Jackfork Sandstone, a Pennsylvanian-aged formation, where hydrothermal processes likely sculpted these crystals over millennia.

Active from the 1950s to 1960s and briefly in the 1990s, the quarry has since closed and flooded, becoming a historical gem for collectors. Its past buzzed with activity, producing millions of needle-like quartz crystals. Pulaski County, rich in history from Native American roots to state development, fosters a vibrant rockhounding community, with clubs and events celebrating its mineral heritage.
